Waxy Caps is a brand dedicated to minimizing waste within the hospitality industry while offering a unique product that helps businesses enhance their sustainability efforts. In developing this brand, I began with extensive research, diving into both primary and secondary sources to explore various forms of waste in the hospitality sector. As my focus narrowed, I chose to direct the brand towards aluminum bottle caps.

Through my research, I discovered a significant knowledge gap regarding the category of this waste. Many people are unaware that aluminum bottle caps can be recycled, or even how to properly recycle them. This insight guided the creation of Waxy Caps, a brand that not only promotes sustainability but also educates consumers on recycling practices.

For the brand identity, I opted for vibrant, energetic colors and a cohesive design that conveys a sense of fun and energy. Although I initially targeted Pho, a restaurant where I have worked for two years which shares a strong commitment to sustainability and waste reduction, the vision for Waxy Caps extends beyond this collaboration. I see great potential in partnering with other companies that prioritize sustainability, ultimately expanding the brand’s impact.

For the packaging design, I chose a minimalistic yet impactful approach. Using recycled cardboard as the base, I kept the text simple and paired it with the Waxy Caps logo, enhanced by an embossed effect. This creates a sleek, cohesive look that reflects the brand’s sustainable ethos while maintaining a polished and modern aesthetic

When designing the social media presence and website for my product, I aimed to create an engaging, user-friendly experience with a vibrant color palette. I selected Instagram as the primary platform due to its strong appeal to a younger demographic, making it an ideal space for showcasing my products effectively. Additionally, I wanted the website to provide comprehensive product information, offer a seamless application process for joining, and include a dedicated section that highlights our brand’s story and values.
